2012 Oscar Nominations
The 2012 Oscar nominations were announced this morning in Beverly Hills! The Artist, The Descendants, The Help, Moneyball, Hugo, War Horse, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, The Tree of Life and Midnight in Paris are all up for best picture. In the best actor category, nominations went to George Clooney for The Descendants, Brad Pitt for Moneyball, The Artist‘s Jean Dujardin, Demian Bichir (A Better Life) and Gary Oldman (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy). The nominees for best actress are Michelle Williams (My Week with Marilyn), Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady), Viola Davis (The Help), Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs) and Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). The nominees for best director are Michel Hazanavicius (The Artist), Alexander Payne (The Descendants), Martin Scorsese (Hugo), Woody Allen (Midnight in Paris) and Terrence Malick (The Tree of Life). The 84th annual Academy Awards will be broadcast from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, February 26.

Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler just announced their engagement was back on last November and now they are having a baby! The couple released a statement saying “We are thrilled to announce we are expecting our first child together. It’s an amazing time in our life and we can’t wait to meet the new addition to our growing family.” There is no word yet on when they will tie the knot or when their little one is due. Congrats!

Taylor Swift is on the cover of Vogue’s February issue, and the country singer talks fame, love and awkward phases. Swift says, I think I am smart unless I am really, really in love, and then I am ridiculously stupid, she says. I got nothing going on! I just don t really feel like dating. I really have this great life right now, and I m not sad and I m not crying this Christmas, so I am really stoked about that. When asked if she was crying last Christmas (after her split from Gyllenhaal), she said, I am not gonna go into it! It s a sad story! Will Taylor write about her last breakup on her next album? “There’s just been this earth-shattering, not recent, but absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak,” she says. “And that will turn out to be what the next album is about.”

Sources close to the couple are confirming that Halle Berry and Oliver Martinez are in fact headed down the aisle! The pair have been dating for two years after meeting in 2010 on the set of their movie Dark Tide. This will be the third marriage for the 45-year-old actress. Congrats!
