Woman Sues Over Ellen DeGeneres’ Breast Joke

A Georgia woman has filed a federal lawsuit, saying TV talk show host Ellen DeGeneres humiliated her by mispronouncing her name and turning it into a breast joke.

Titi Pierce, who said she’s a Robins Air Force Base engineer and a real-estate agent, says her first name is the Nigerian name for “flower” and it’s pronounced “Tee Tee” “as grammar dictates.”

Her lawsuit says that Ellen used a picture of her real-estate sign, featuring her name, in a comedy segment titled, “What’s Wrong With These Ads…. and These Signs?”

Ellen read her name as “titty Pierce,” causing “immediate ridicule and raucous laughter” from the audience. The show also included Titi’s cell phone number in the picture used, which led to her receiving harassing and threatening calls at all hours of the day and night, while she was out of town for a family funeral.

She and her husband have also faced ridicule in their town, and she says she reached out to Ellen to complain. This led to her number being blurred out in a copy of the segment that was posted on the show’s website. But it was visible again when the show was repeated in April, and Titi received harassing phone calls and more ridicule.

The lawsuit claims that DeGeneres and Warner Brothers defamed her, invaded her privacy and intentionally inflicted distress. Titi’s asking for damages from Warner Brothers and a jury trial. She also doesn’t want the segment to air again.

5 Body Language Tricks That Will Make People Like You

No matter what job you’re in, the path to success includes making a good first impression.

Being confident is the key to that first impression, but here are a few “body language” tricks to help put you on the fast track to becoming a favorite person in the office.

1. Show excitement

Showing extra excitement about seeing co-workers in the morning makes a lasting impression, if you’re sincere. Humans tend to mirror the actions they see around them, so your co-workers are likely to mirror that excitement back on to you.
2. Make appropriate eye contact

Too much eye contact can be overbearing and seem aggressive, but no eye contact is a quick way to imply you’re not interested in what people have to say. Experts say meeting eyes with someone for about 60% of the time is a good balance.
3. Ask for a favor

Asking for favors is a great way to earn people’s trust and fondness. This is because people will unconsciously come up with mental justifications for going out of their way for you, such as “he’s my friend,” “I like him” or “he seems like the kind of person who would return the favor.”
4. Nod your head

Ndd your head when you need to persuade someone to see your point of view. They’ll also mirror your actions and likely nod along with you. That subconscious action will most likely convince the person to agree with you or see your point in a positive light.
5. Open your hands

Clenching their fists or crossing their arms during a conversation can be distracting, and it suggests you’re trying to hide something or aren’t trustworthy in some way. Open-palmed gestures symbolize trust in the person you’re talking to.

Mom Defends Herself From Backlash After Son Leads to Gorilla Being Killed at Zoo

The mother of the 4-year-old boy, who slipped into the gorilla enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo on Saturday, has hit back against people criticizing her parenting.

Michelle Gregg defended herself in a now-deleted Facebook post, writing: “God protected my child until the authorities were able to get to him. My son is safe and was able to walk away with a concussion and a few scrapes… no broken bones or internal injuries.”

She wrote, “As a society we are quick to judge how a parent could take their eyes off of their child and if anyone knows me I keep a tight watch on my kids. Accidents happen…”

Social media users slammed Michelle for allegedly not paying close enough attention to her son, writing that she was responsible for the death of Harambe, the 17-year-old, 450-pound male Western Lowland gorilla, who was shot to protect the boy.
Animal activists have started an online petition called “Justice for Harambe,” calling for Hamilton County Child Protection Services and the Cincinnati Police Department to encourage action against Michelle.
