Researchers have found the part of the brain where the Christmas spirit is located.
MRI scans helped researchers identify parts of the brain linked to spirituality, recognition of facial emotions and the senses.
The scientists took a survey to divide people into a group that liked Christmas and a group that didn’t.
The groups were then shown a series of pictures of everyday items and Christmas-themed objects.
Scientists found those in the Christmas group showed increased brain activity when seeing Christmas photos.
The researchers said understanding how the Christmas spirit works could be a powerful tool in treating ailments such as bah humbug syndrome.
Canned Fruit and Veggies Better For Your Diet, According to Research
People who eat canned fruits and vegetables might have a healthier diet than people who don’t.
Researchers looked at the eating habits of almost 42,000 American children and adults for nine years.
They found adults who ate canned fruits and veggies had average diet quality scores of 49 on a scale of 0 to 100 with 100 being the healthiest… that compares with 47.4 for folks who didn’t eat these foods.
And for kids, eating these canned goods was linked to an average diet score of 45.8… that’s compared with 43.3 without these foods.
Ronda Rousey Keeps Promise, Attends Marine Ball
UFC fighter Ronda Rousey made good on her promise to attend the Marine Corps Ball with a fan.
Rousey attended the Friday night event in South Carolina with Marine Lance Cpl. Jarrod Haschert, despite rumors that she might not show.
Haschert invited Rousey to the event in August, calling her “a phenomenal person,” but his mom recently said he hadn’t heard from Rousey since she accepted his invite. His mom said, “He said, ‘All I know is I’m going in the hopes she’ll be there.’ ”
As Rousey headed to the event Friday, she said, “I promised I’d go. It’s an honor to be asked.” In fact, she said, it gave her a reason to leave the house, as she continues to recover from her defeat against Holly Holm in November.
She said, “Honestly, I probably would stay on my couch crying and eating ice cream for like another month if he didn’t ask me to go.”
Pantone Names TWO Colors Of The Year For The First Time
For the first time ever, Pantone named two colors of the year for 2016… Rose Quartz which is a soft pink, and Serenity which is a baby blue.
The color company says they chose the two colors to represent society’s move toward gender equality and fluidity
Pantone’s system of selecting the yearly color trend includes polling designers, manufacturers, and retailers about what colors they plan to use in their products in the upcoming 12 months.
