Cameron Diaz’s Toast to Her New Husband at Their Wedding: ” I Didn’t Want to Settle”
Cameron Diaz and husband Benji Madden tied the knot at her Beverly Hills mansion Monday evening after 9 months of dating.
The 42-year-old actress toasted to her 35-year-old groom, telling 127 guests that she’s happy she held out for Mr. Right.
She said, ‘I waited because I didn’t want to settle. Now I got the best man ever. My special man. He’s mine.’
Madden said, ‘I only asked to be in control of two things: The music and the cake.’
Cameron was no Bridezilla, but she did lose her cool and curse when the lights flickered and went out for 10 seconds before her march down the aisle.
The only other problem was when their five-year-old ring bearer – Sparrow Madden – the son of his twin brother Joel and Nicole Richie. He dropped the ring and it rolled around, leading the guests to laugh as the groom and his best man, Joel, crawled around looking for it.
Performers included Ryan Adams and Lionel Richie, and celebrity guests included Christina Applegate, Wiz Khalifa, Drew Barrymore, Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, Judd Apatow and others.
