Los Angeles’ very own Dr. Frank Rubio just became the nation’s FIRST Salvadoran-American to ever blast off into space. He lifted off this week for a 6-month mission on the International Space Station. On top of being an astronaut, Rubio’s also a physician and former Army pilot. Want to learn more about his story? Brad Pitt can now add a new side hustle to his already STACKED resume…SCULPTOR! A-list Hollywood star has publicly debuted his first works of art at the Sara Hildén Art Museum in Tampere, Finland. The nine works on display by Pitt include; A house-shaped structure molded in clear silicon and shot with bullets, “House A Go Go”: an 18-inch miniature house made out of tree bark, and a coffin-sized bronze box depicting hands, feet, and faces attempting to break through.

California students can now get FREE 24/7 online tutoring and homework help – all thanks to a new initiative from state lawmakers! Students can go to the state website any time of day and get in touch with a live one-on-one tutor. We’re the first state in the nation to offer such a program. Here’s an added bonus, there’s no age limit to who can use the service! Adult learners can access writing assistance, citizenship resources, and other tools. The funding comes from the Building Forward Library Improvement Grant Program.
Marcella is an 8 week German Shepherd puppy. She is sassy and loves to play! Marcella absolutely LOVES her foster siblings and her foster human brother. She will need to be adopted into a home with someone who will take her training seriously and continue to give her the tools to challenge her physical and mental needs. Marcella is learning how to walk on the leash and has had multiple successful potty breaks outside but, like any puppy, is still working on becoming fully potty trained.
