‘Avengers’ Still Tops At The Box Office

“Avengers: Age of Ultron” was the biggest movie in America again and it wasn’t even close.

The superhero sequel took in $77.2 million over the weekend to come in first for the second straight weekend.

Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara’s new movie “Hot Pursuit” opened in second with $13.3 million and “The Age of Adaline” fell one spot to third with $5.6 million.

Taylor Swift turned her attention and concern to one of her fans who reached out to Swift to ask for a hug and some comfort because she lost her mother recently and has been having some trouble coping with Mother’s Day.

Here is her letter:

Dear Taylor,
It’s me, iced coffee girl, and I could really use a hug. Today is Mother’s Day, a day most people spend with their mothers thanking them for everything they do. But, for me, I can’t spend this day with my mom because she’s in heaven. Last January, my mom passed away and a piece of my heart left with her. My mom was my best friend, the one I laughed with, the one I cried with, and the one I loved with my whole heart. For a while, I felt empty. But as you’ve done many times before, you filled that hole. You took me out of my sad place and made me happy. And because of you, I got through something that was the hardest thing in the world for me. Today’s going to be another hard day, but I know with you on my side I can get through anything. I love you. Always, Kaileen

Kaileen- I love you so much and can’t imagine what you must be feeling today. You’ve lived through my worst fear. I’m so sorry you can’t spend today with her. It’s not fair, and there’s no reason why you should feel okay about it. No one should ever expect you to feel normal today. I admire and respect your ability to put forth such a sunny, sweet disposition when you’ve been through something so dark and tragic so recently. I never would’ve guessed by your attitude or your posts. I never would’ve known if you hadn’t told me. Sending you a huge hug today.

On being a Latina in Hollywood: “There aren’t as many roles for Latinas as we would want there to be, but we shouldn’t be complaining because a Latin girl just won a Golden Globe, a Latin director just won an Oscar. We should be very happy that there are people out there who are doing things and being recognized.”

For a special Mother’s Day surprise, Ashton Kutcher remodeled his mom’s house in Homestead, Iowa,.

Ashton explains, ‘It’s my way of saying thank you to my mom.

‘My mom has been like the greatest influence in my life, and anything I can do to say thank you is the right thing to do.’

The actor used the home-remodeling app Houzz to plan the new design.

The renovations were put up on the Houzz website as part of an online series.

Nicki Minaj will co-star in “Barbershop 3″ alongside Ice Cube and Cedric the Entertainer.

Regina Hall, Eve and Common are also starring.”

Minaj will play Draya, the sassy new hairdresser of the beauty shop portion of the barbershop. She made her first screen appearance last year in “The Other Woman,” portraying the assistant to Cameron Diaz’s character.

The original 2002 film starred Ice Cube and Anthony Anderson. The 2004 sequel “Barbershop 2: Back in Business” featured the same cast.
